Micanopy fire contained to bedroom

At approximately 8 p.m. on January 6, fire crews from Micanopy, Cross Creek, and Alachua County responded to a single-family residence in Micanopy that was on fire. Due to a rapid attack, the fire was contained to the bedroom. The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical.

Alachua County Fire Rescue advises all residents to install and maintain smoke detectors.
