Newberry High School receives third bomb threat

BY JENNIFER CABRERA

Newberry High School was evacuated today for a bomb threat, the third in the past three school days. Students were evacuated to West Park, but then a screenshot of a sniper threat at West Park began circulating, so students were moved to the gymnasium. Deputies took tactical positions at the school, and the Sheriff’s helicopter, Air 1, assisted from the air. The school was given the all clear around 11:30 a.m., and detectives are continuing the investigation into the source of the threats.
