Oaks Mall evacuated

The Oaks Mall was evacuated around 6:15 p.m. tonight after a report of a sound that may have been a gunshot or fireworks. Gainesville Police Department officers responded, managed the evacuation, and cleared each store.

Gainesville Police Department spokesman Graham Glover told Alachua Chronicle that officers determined that fireworks were set off inside the mall. There were no injuries, and nobody was detained.
