Oct. 25 is DEA Drug Take-back Day

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – If you have any unused/unwanted medication, you can safely drop it off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, at four local drop-off sites.

Allowed medications include any over-the-counter or prescription medications, vape cartridges (i.e. pods), vape liquids, and vaping devices without the battery. Exceptions include sharps, needles, and aerosolized drugs (i.e. inhalers).

Safely disposing of the medication helps keep them out of reach of children, protect the water supply, and prevent prescription drug misuse in the community.

Local drop-off locations:

  • Santa Fe College Police Department (Thursday, Oct. 23 – Sunday, Oct. 26), 3800 NW 83rd St., Building T
  • Alachua County Senior Center (5701 NW 34th Blvd)
  • HCA North Florida Hospital Gainesville Emergency (4094 SW 41st Blvd)
  • CVS in Alachua (15174 NW U.S. Hwy 441)
