BY JENNIFER CABRERA

One man was killed and another man critically injured in a one-car accident on I-75 on Wednesday, January 22.

At 4:34 p.m., Willard Crowder, 79, of Greenville, FL, was traveling north on I-75 near the 395 mile marker (between the 39th Avenue and 441/Alachua exits) when he lost control of his 2001 Ford F250 truck. The truck traveled onto the east shoulder and hit a tree, then caught fire. Crowder was able to get out of the truck, but his passenger, Lee Bishop, 82, of Lee, FL, was not able to get out in time. Bishop died at the scene, and Crowder was taken to UF at Shands with critical injuries.
