One person transported to hospital after single-vehicle accident on I-75

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – One patient was transported to the hospital this morning after being extricated from a vehicle that was found in the treeline on I-75, south of Gainesville.
At about 5:52 a.m. on May 20, Alachua County Fire Rescue crews responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident requiring extrication on northbound I-75 near the 378 mile marker (between CR 234 and Williston Road).
Units found a vehicle with heavy damage in the treeline, about 25 feet from the road. One patient was extricated from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life and transported to UF Health Shands.
