Paddock Club fire contained to the kitchen

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Crews from Alachua County Fire Rescue and Gainesville Fire Rescue were dispatched to a report of a structure fire at the Paddock Club on Fort Clarke Blvd at about 8 p.m. last night.
First arriving units from ACFR Station 23 found a downstairs apartment with a fire in the kitchen. Quint 23 took a hoseline inside and made an aggressive interior attack. The fire was extinguished in less than five minutes. The fire was contained to the kitchen, and none of the adjacent apartments received any damage as a result. All of the residents escaped without harm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but is believed to have been started as a result of cooking. The fire caused extensive damage to the kitchen area.Â
