Palms Medical Group gives back during back-to-school season

Press release from Palms Medical Group

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – Back-to-school season is in full swing, and Palms Medical Group has stuffed, distributed, and given out a record 1,000 backpacks to community members and various partnering community organizations throughout our 13-location service area.

From Lake City to Williston and Fleming Island to Bell, Palms has either hosted or participated in 16 separate Back-to-School events across North Central Florida between Saturday, July 25, and Sunday, August 9, 2026.

“Palms Medical Group’s mission is to enhance the health and well-being of our communities,” said Anita Rembert, CEO of Palms Medical Group. “Being able to give back to the families in these areas – especially our children as they prepare to embark on the new school year – exemplifies that very mission.”

A partnership with Rad Wear allowed Palms Medical Group to purchase more backpacks through co-branding, and the Dollar General Distribution Warehouse in Alachua assisted substantially by donating packs of notebook paper and folders for each backpack.

Palms Medical Group simultaneously celebrated National Health Center Week (NHCW) – a nationwide recognition of community health centers spearheaded by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) – during the height of these giveaway efforts. This week highlights the essential role health centers like Palms play in improving public health and providing Americans with access to critical healthcare services. These opportunities to supply families with necessary school supplies were just some of the many ways Palms Medical Group celebrated NHCW this year.

Throughout the remainder of the year, Palms Medical Group organizes a variety of other outreach efforts for the communities we serve.

In addition to backpack giveaways in August, Palms participates in Thanksgiving and Christmas food drives, health fairs, free summer sports physicals for children, and many other community sponsorships.
