Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs community workshops scheduled

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Neighbors are invited to attend an upcoming community workshop to help shape the future of the City of Gainesville’s parks, recreation, and cultural services.

The workshops are designed to gather input from neighbors and identify the needs and priorities of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs (PRCA) for the next 5-10 years.

These are the dates, times, and locations of the workshops:

  • 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5 in the Duval Early Learning Academy cafeteria, 2106 NE 8th Ave.  
  • 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9 at the Senior Recreation Center, 5701 NW 34th Blvd.
  • 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 at A. Quinn Jones School, 1108 NW 7th Ave.

The feedback will be used in the update of the department’s Vision 2020 Master Plan. The department’s needs assessment update also includes a survey that has been mailed to randomly selected households in Gainesville. An online version of the survey will be available soon in both English and Spanish.
