Partnership for Strong Families receives contribution from AT&T to expand digital access at SWAG Family Resource Center

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Partnership for Strong Families’ (PSF) Family Resource Centers received a $95,000 contribution from AT&T to expand equitable access to technology, improve connectivity, and teach safe, responsible use of digital devices, removing potential barriers to long-term self-sufficiency and family stability.

“At Partnership for Strong Families, we know that access to technology is no longer optional; it is essential to education, employment, connection, and long-term family stability,” said Ginger Griffeth, President & CEO of Partnership for Strong Families. “Thanks to AT&T’s investment, our Family Resource Center Network will help more families gain the tools, skills, and confidence they need to safely and successfully navigate today’s digital world.”

The contribution-funded program will address barriers to digital access, increase knowledge and confidence, and promote safe use of technology. The funds will enhance technology infrastructure through upgraded computer labs, expanded laptop availability, and updated equipment to ensure community members have reliable, high-quality access to broadband services and internet-enabled devices. These on-site resources will also support community-focused programming, including digital literacy, money management, afterschool enrichment, and workforce readiness activities.

The project will also deliver digital literacy programming for youth and adults to promote responsible technology. Hands-on trainings and workshops will focus on responsible technology use, covering topics such as online safety, cyberbullying prevention, and digital well-being to ensure participants can confidently, safely, and responsibly engage in digital spaces. 

The three Family Resource Centers receiving the funding are Tri-County Community Resource Center in Chiefland, FL, serving rural Dixie, Gilchrist, and Levy Counties; SWAG Family Resource Center in SW Gainesville, FL; and NorthStar Family Resource Center in Lake City, FL. Together, the sites receive approximately 22,000 visits annually, providing support services that help families and community members overcome barriers to long-term stability.
