Pedestrian killed in Alachua

According to information from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a pedestrian in the intersection of US Hwy 441 and NW 147th Drive (the light near Hitchcock’s) in Alachua was hit and killed by a silver Mitsubishi at 6:29 a.m. today.
The car was driven by a 38-year-old man from Gainesville, and he sustained no injuries. The victim was a 40-year-old man who lived in Alachua.
FHP is still investigating the incident.
