Woman transported to hospital after Archer Road accident

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A woman has been transported to the hospital after being hit by a pickup truck on SW Archer Road this evening.

According to the Gainesville Police Department, the woman was either pushing or riding a scooter eastbound in a crosswalk in the 4200 block of SW Archer Road at about 5:30 p.m. when a pickup truck exiting from the southbound ramp of I-75 struck the scooter.

There are major traffic delays in the area.

This incident is still under investigation.
