Polling Place Changes for the 2021 City of Gainesville Special Election

Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Kim A. Barton is reminding voters of polling place changes for the 2021 City of Gainesville Special Election. All voters within the affected precincts were mailed letters notifying them of the changes last week.

Precinct 23
The temporary polling location for Precinct 23 is Days Inn Hotel, located at 1901 SW 13th Street, Gainesville. City College, which serves as Precinct 23’s regular polling place, is unavailable for this election.

Precinct 27
The temporary polling location for Precinct 27 is The Thomas Center, located at 302 NE 6th Avenue, Gainesville. The Thelma Boltin Center, which serves as Precinct 27’s regular polling place, is currently under construction and unavailable.

Precinct 59The temporary polling location for Precinct 59 is Days Inn Hotel, located at 1901 SW 13th Street, Gainesville. The Wyndham Garden Gainesville Hotel, which serves as Precinct 59’s regular polling place, has changed ownership and is currently unavailable.

In addition to the temporary polling places for Precincts 23, 27, and 59, several precincts are combined during City of Gainesville elections. They are as follows:

  • Precinct 30 voters residing in Gainesville city limits will vote at Precinct 13 (Mt. Carmel Baptist Church)
  • Precinct 35 voters residing in Gainesville city limits will vote at Precinct 54 (Florida Museum of Natural History)
  • Precinct 43 voters residing in Gainesville city limits will vote at Precinct 32 (LifeSouth Community Blood Centers)
  • Precinct 48 voters residing in Gainesville city limits will vote at Precinct 39 (Hilton UF Conference Center)
  • Precinct 52 voters residing in Gainesville city limits will vote at Precinct 36 (Doyle Conner Building)

Voters must vote in the polling place to which they are assigned on Election Day, which is November 16. During early voting, which will run from Friday, November 12 through Sunday, November 14, voters may use any one of the two City of Gainesville early voting sites.

All early voting sites (listed below) are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.

  • Millhopper Branch Library (3145 NW 43rd Street, Gainesville)
