Prescribed burn may limit visibility in Hawthorne

The Florida Department of Forestry is conducting a 40-acre prescribed burn on US 301 near SE 162nd Avenue in Hawthorne. Visibility may be affected in the area. Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling in the area, as visibility may deteriorate quickly, especially during night time and early morning hours. Motorists are reminded to reduce their speed and utilize low beam headlights in order to adapt to changing visibility and weather conditions.
