Project YouthBuild now accepting applications for the Class of 2027

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Project YouthBuild AmeriCorps is now accepting applications for the 2026–27 program year. Young adults interested in earning their high school diploma, gaining valuable job skills, and preparing for a successful career are encouraged to apply.

Applications are available online at www.projectyouthbuild.org or may be picked up in person at 635 NW 6th Street, Gainesville, FL.

Project YouthBuild is a nine-month education, workforce development, leadership, and pre-apprenticeship program serving young people ages 16 to 24 who have low incomes and left school before earning a high school diploma.

Participants have the opportunity to earn their high school diploma while gaining nationally recognized credentials in the construction and healthcare fields. Students also participate in an interactive leadership development program that prepares them for civic engagement, postsecondary education, and employment.

Throughout the program, students spend nearly half of their time receiving classroom instruction and working toward their diploma. The remainder of their time is dedicated to hands-on construction training, building affordable housing in the local community, volunteering through community service projects, and developing leadership and career readiness skills.

Students enrolled in Project YouthBuild earn a stipend while participating in the program and receive comprehensive wraparound support services designed to help them succeed both during the program and beyond. Lastly, students have the opportunity to earn a scholarship for college or trade school.

Project YouthBuild anticipates a high level of interest for the upcoming class. Eligible young adults are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.
