Raising Cane’s joins forces with Humane Society of North Central Florida for Golden Plush Puppy campaign

Press release from Raising Cane’s
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The party isn’t over! Raising Cane’s continues its golden birthday celebration with more golden giving! Staying true to its long-standing commitment to community support, especially pet welfare, the iconic Chicken Finger brand unleashed a Golden Plush Puppy on Wednesday, March 19. The cuddly collectible isn’t just cute, it’s for a golden cause, with 100% of net proceeds from in-restaurant sales benefiting the Humane Society of North Central Florida in Gainesville.
Inspired by Raising Cane’s yellow lab namesake, the adorable limited-edition Golden Plush Puppy features an all-gold Cane in her paw-ty best and is available in-restaurant for $9.99 plus tax through April 29. Net proceeds (purchase price before tax minus production cost) from sales of the Golden Plush Puppy sold in-restaurant will result in a minimum donation of $3 per plush sold.*
The Humane Society of North Central Florida was formed in 2018 through the merger of the Alachua County Humane Society, Gainesville Pet Rescue, and Helping Hands Pet Rescue to streamline services, eliminate duplication, and maximize community resources. With over 40 years of combined service, the organization operates as a limited intake, no-kill shelter, transferring animals from municipal shelters across North Central Florida. As an independent 501(c)(3) organization, it does not receive federal funding or have affiliations with national organizations like the Humane Society of the United States or the ASPCA.
Raising Cane’s started its golden birthday celebration last year, when the Baton Rouge-born Chicken Finger brand “toasted” to 28 years of golden, crispy goodness on August 28. To commemorate the milestone, Cane’s unveiled an unprecedented all-gold Restaurant in downtown Boston, which was its 828th Restaurant in the country, and gave away $100,000 worth of golden prizes to 828 lucky Customers across the country – including golden necklaces, golden Vans shoes, real gold bars, and more!
Todd Graves, owner and founder of Raising Cane’s, infused his passion for animals into the brand he founded in 1996, naming it after his beloved dog. The Plush Puppy initiative is an annual tradition and has raised over $2 million to date for Community dog parks, no-kill rescues, and animal shelters across the U.S. This Golden Plush Puppy initiative is part of Cane’s pledge to give back $30 million to local communities in 2025. Over the past 28 years, the brand has donated more than $140 million to over 30,000 local organizations and nonprofits through its nearly 900 restaurants.
