Recycle Unwanted Tires at City’s Upcoming Tire Roundup

Neighbors are invited to help control mosquito populations by recycling unwanted tires during the City of Gainesville’s upcoming Tire Roundup. 

When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, June 26

Where: Public Works building, 405 NW 39th Avenue 

Neighbors may bring up to six tires, without rims, for recycling. (Tires on rims will not be accepted.) 

As part of National Mosquito Control Awareness Week (June 20-26), neighbors are invited to learn how to prevent mosquito populations from thriving, such as disposing of unwanted tires and other discarded items that hold standing water and create breeding grounds.
