Rep. Byron Donalds will be the featured speaker at Black Tie & Blue Jeans event in September
Press release from the Republican Party of Alachua County
ALACHUA, Fla. – Members of the Alachua County Republicans announced today that Congressman Byron Donalds, GOP frontrunner for Florida Governor in 2026, will be the Special Guest Speaker for the 23rd Annual Ronald Reagan Black Tie and Blue Jeans BBQ on September 25 at the Legacy Park Multipurpose Center in Alachua.
Donalds currently serves as the U.S. Representative from Florida’s District 19 in southwest Florida and announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Florida Governor earlier this year. Donalds, if elected, would begin serving after Governor Ron DeSantis.
Donalds is best known for his matter-of-fact and no-nonsense approach pushing back against the left. He will be a crowd-pleaser for what is sure to be another energetic sellout event.
“He [Donalds] already has a significant following and strong campaign for Governor. He is a great representative for today’s party, people love him, and he is already pre-endorsed by President Trump. I would not be surprised if he wins the whole thing,” says Alachua County Republican Party Chair Tim Marden
Local Congresswoman Kat Cammack is also scheduled to appear. This is a fundraiser for the local party and not for any candidate or candidate committee.
Donalds follows a long line of very popular national keynote speakers at the annual fundraiser. Former speakers include Governor Ron DeSantis, Governor Kristi Noem, Candace Owens, Larry Elder, Dan Bongino, and Senator Rick Scott.
