Road and Sidewalk Closure on SE 1st Street

Alachua County is informing drivers and pedestrians that a section of SE 1st Street, in front of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, downtown Gainesville), will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021, due to HVAC work being done on the building.

The City of Gainesville will post “No Parking” signs on the affected parking spaces on Thursday. The closure will effectively be from the main doors of the Alachua County Tax Collectors office to University Ave.

The sidewalk will also be closed during this time. The road and sidewalk will be reopened as soon as the work is complete. The new HVAC units should be up and running by the end of the day Friday.
