December 11, 2020
Press release from City of Gainesville
Below are the updated City of Gainesville traffic impacts scheduled for Dec. 11-18. New Notices NW Second Street: The 400-500 block of Northwest Second Street will be closed for roadway improvements. Continuing Notices NW First Avenue: The 1600-1700 block of Northwest First Avenue will be closed until 2022 to allow for construction of a new development. SE Fourth Street: Southeast Fourth Street will be open to northbound traffic only from Williston Road to Depot Avenue. Provisions have been made to access Depot Park from Depot Avenue by heading south on Southeast Fourth Street. Vehicles exiting Depot Park should proceed north to the roundabout. Local traffic will be able to reach their homes and businesses by following the detour signs to Williston Road and heading northbound onto Southeast Fourth Street. Through traffic will be allowed northbound only from Williston Road. This is a major undertaking for the city and requires lane closures as construction is completed. Travelers should expect a variety of traffic configurations over the course of the project to facilitate the work. The new northbound lane was recently opened to traffic. The new cycle track and sidewalk is also open to pedestrians and bicyclists. Construction has now started for Phase III, which will construct the new southbound lane. |
All lane and road closures are subject to change due to unforeseen conditions, such as inclement weather. Please be advised that this report covers the roads maintained by the City of Gainesville.
