Road and Traffic Impacts for Feb. 28-March 6, 2020

Press release from City of Gainesville

Below are the updated City of Gainesville traffic impacts scheduled for Feb. 28-March 6.

New Notices

SW 12th Street: Southwest 12th Street will be closed from Southwest Third Avenue to Southwest Fourth Avenue the week of March 2, while GRU replaces wastewater service equipment.

NW Third Avenue: The 1200-1300 block of Northwest Third Avenue will be closed from Thursday, March 5–Monday, March 9 to allow for the dismantling of an onsite crane.

Continuing Notices

SW 12th Street: The 100 block of Southwest 12th Street through the 100 block of Northwest 12th Street will be closed through Tuesday, March 3 to dismantle a crane for a construction project. Additionally, the traffic lanes on West University Avenue between 10th Street and 13th Street will be diverted to the north side of the street as a single lane in either direction.

NW Fourth Avenue: Northwest Fourth Avenue will remain closed between the 1200 and 1300 block due to construction.

SE Fourth Street: Southeast Fourth Street will be open to northbound traffic only from Williston Road to Depot Avenue. Provisions have been made to access Depot Park from Depot Avenue by heading south on Southeast Fourth Street. Vehicles exiting Depot Park should proceed north to the roundabout. Local traffic will be able to reach their homes and businesses by following the detour signs to Williston Road and heading northbound onto Southeast Fourth Street. Through traffic will be allowed northbound only from Williston Road. This is a major undertaking for the city and requires lane closures as construction is completed. Travelers should expect a variety of traffic configurations over the course of the project to facilitate the work.

All lane and road closures are subject to change due to unforeseen conditions, such as inclement weather.
