Road and Traffic Impacts for June 3-10, 2022

Below are the updated City of Gainesville traffic impacts scheduled for June 3-10, 2022. 

New Notices

NE 27th Ave.: The 1900 block of Northeast 27th Avenue will be closed to through traffic from June 6-8 for wastewater rehabilitation work. Businesses will have access through the work zone.

NW 22nd Street: Portions of Northwest 22nd Street will be closed between West University Avenue and Northwest Eighth Avenue from June 7-9 for wastewater rehabilitation work. A local detour will be in place each day.

Continuing Notices 

SE Fourth Street project update: As part of the continuing work to complete the Southeast Fourth Street project, there will be a road closure while the speed table at the trail crossing is constructed. The closure is anticipated to last until June 17, 2022. The following options are available for pedestrian traffic:

  • ADA-compliant detour via SR-331/Williston Road
  • Non ADA-compliant detour at the SE Fourth St. trail crossing
  • Paratransit service available for neighbors with disabilities

SE Second Place: There is a single lane closure (westbound) on Southeast Second Place between Main Street and Southeast Second Street. Southeast Second Place will be a designated one-way street for eastbound traffic only. This closure is expected to last until the end of June 2022 to allow for development of a hotel.

SW Fifth Avenue: The 1200-1300 block of Southwest Fifth Avenue will be closed, tentatively until the end of June 2022. 

SW Ninth Terrace: Southwest Ninth Terrace will be closed between Southwest First Avenue and University Avenue due to the construction of a new development. Construction is expected to last through August 2022.  

NW First Avenue: The 1600-1700 block of Northwest First Avenue will be closed until August 2022 to allow for construction of a new development.  

All lane and road closures are subject to change due to unforeseen conditions, such as inclement weather.
