Below are the updated City of Gainesville traffic impacts scheduled for May 27-June 3, 2022.
NW 23rd Ave.: There will be temporary lane closures on Northwest 23rd Avenue from Northwest 16th Terrace to 1633 NW 23rd Ave (Gaineswood Condominiums) from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. each day June 1-June 5, 2022 to allow for repaving a section of Northwest 23rd Avenue.
SE Fourth Street project update: As part of the continuing work to complete the Southeast Fourth Street project, there will be a road closure while the speed table at the trail crossing is constructed. The closure is anticipated to begin May 25 and last until June 17, 2022. The following options are available for pedestrian traffic:
ADA-compliant detour via SR-331/Williston Road
Non ADA-compliant detour at the SE Fourth St. trail crossing
Paratransit service available for neighbors with disabilities
SE Second Place: There is a single lane closure (westbound) on Southeast Second Place between Main Street and Southeast Second Street. Southeast Second Place will be a designated one-way street for eastbound traffic only. This closure is expected to last until the end of June 2022 to allow for development of a hotel.
SW Fifth Avenue: The 1200-1300 block of Southwest Fifth Avenue will be closed, tentatively until the end of June 2022.
SW Ninth Terrace: Southwest Ninth Terrace will be closed between Southwest First Avenue and University Avenue due to the construction of a new development. Construction is expected to last through August 2022.
NW First Avenue: The 1600-1700 block of Northwest First Avenue will be closed until August 2022 to allow for construction of a new development.
All lane and road closures are subject to change due to unforeseen conditions, such as inclement weather.
