Road and traffic impacts for May 9-17, 2025

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Below are the updated City of Gainesville traffic impacts scheduled for May 9-17, 2025. 

New Notices

SE 21st St.: Southeast 21st Street will be closed to thru traffic from Southeast Second Avenue to Southeast Third Place until May 22.

NW Eighth Ave.: Northwest Eighth Avenue will be closed from Northwest Sixth Street to Northwest 12th Street on Saturday, May 17, from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. It will be closed in both directions and detours will be in place.

Continuing Notices

NW First St.: Northwest First Street, between West University Avenue to Northwest First Avenue, will be closed with detours until May 30.

NW Sixth St.: Northwest Sixth Street, between Northwest Eighth Avenue and Northwest Seventh Avenue, has single-lane closures (right-turn lane only) headed southbound until May 31. 

Note: All lane and road closures are subject to change due to unforeseen conditions, such as inclement weather.
