Press release from Ronald McDonald House Charities
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida (RMHCNCF) is proud to announce the appointment of John Thomas as Chief Philanthropy Officer, effective November 9, 2025.
Thomas brings more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and community engagement. In his new role, he will oversee all aspects of fundraising, events, volunteering, and communications, expanding awareness and support for RMHCNCF’s mission of keeping families close. Through this work, RMHCNCF fulfills its purpose of caring for families with ill or injured children – removing barriers, strengthening families, and promoting healing to ensure the best health outcomes for every child.
“We are thrilled to welcome John to our leadership team,” said Stevie Doyle, Chief Executive Officer of RMHCNCF.
“His passion for people, strategic approach to philanthropy, and deep understanding of our community will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow and serve more families in need.”
Before joining RMHCNCF, Thomas served as Vice President of Advancement and later Interim Chief Executive Officer at GRACE Marketplace. During his tenure, he led resource development initiatives that resulted in substantial increases in philanthropic support, strengthening the organization’s capacity to serve people experiencing homelessness across its service area. Prior to GRACE Marketplace, Thomas spent nearly a decade with Peaceful Paths Domestic Abuse Network.
“Joining the Ronald McDonald House family truly feels like coming home,” said Thomas. “As someone who spent days in the hospital as a child, I understand the comfort and relief that come from being close to loved ones during those critical moments. I’m honored to join this incredible team and help build on its success as we continue delivering the mission of RMHCNCF.”
