Sarasota woman killed in High Springs crash

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – A 69-year-old Sarasota woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash this afternoon in High Springs.

According to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, at about 12:44 p.m. on July 11, a pickup truck driven by a 61-year-old Branford man hit the Sarasota woman’s SUV from behind while she was stopped in traffic near the intersection of U.S. Hwy 27 and NW 174th Avenue. The crash pushed the woman’s SUV off the roadway, and the woman succumbed to her injuries.

The pickup truck then hit the rear of a second pickup truck, driven by a 68-year-old man from Walhonding, Ohio.

The drivers of the two pickup trucks were not injured; all three drivers were wearing seatbelts.
