Because of press reports of a ‘second wave’ of flu cases, the Alachua County Health Department and Alachua County Schools are again offering students free flu shots at school.
Parents will have to return a consent form for their child to get the shot; the forms are due by February 21. Schools sent an email notice to all parents on Wednesday evening, and packets from the Health Department have started going home as well. There is also a website that includes more info and the consent form.
Clinics have been scheduled at all schools so the shots will be done before Spring Break, which starts March 20.
