Sheriff announces arrest in murder of homeless man

Today Alachua County Sheriff Clovis Watson announced that detectives arrested James R. Kinsler, Jr. (6/3/76) on a warrant for the murder of Troy L. Brigman while committing a robbery. The sworn complaint that led to the warrant is sealed.

Kinsler was also charged with multiple offenses related to the possession and sale of cocaine after undercover officers purchased cocaine from him on two occasions near the Phoenix Neighborhood Playground at 2611 SW 31st Place.

“Mr. Brigman was a homeless member of our society but as important as anyone else and deserves the same justice,” said Sheriff Watson.
