Sonny’s celebrates Founder’s Day with Random Acts of BBQ

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sonny’s BBQ celebrated its Founder’s Day last Friday, marking 57 years in business and giving back to the community where it all began with a Kindness Caravan.

Random Acts of BBQ to deserving members of the community at five locations, feeding over 75 people. The honorees were nominated for making a difference by selflessly giving their time, talents, and efforts to the community, and Sonny’s served them and their guests.

The honorees included:

• Margot DeConna, executive director for Food For Kids
• Sherah English, director at Bread of the Mighty food bank
• Michael Wright, executive director at Gainesville Community Ministry
• Lisa Michelle Wight, administrator on the lung transplant floor at UF Health Shands Hospital
• Diamond Hudson, school nurse at Eastside High School
