One southbound lane reopened on I-75 in Alachua County

ALACHUA, Fla. – Update: one southbound lane has been reopened.

Original: Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating an earlier tractor-trailer crash that occurred when a southbound semi and two trailers traveled off the interstate onto the west shoulder, where the truck struck several trees. Damaged chemical containers in one of the trailers will require all southbound lanes near the crash to be closed while these materials are removed. Until clean-up efforts are complete, all southbound traffic will be diverted off the interstate at the 399 mile marker.
