Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Isaiah Sa’ron Williams, 23, of Starke, was arrested on December 23 on a warrant for armed burglary and grand theft of a firearm, related to a 2023 incident in which he allegedly stole a gun from a former roommate.
On January 15, 2023, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to a home in the neighborhood north of NW 39th Avenue and east of NW 13th Street, where a resident received a notification from a security camera that someone was in his locked bedroom. He told the officer that he recognized Williams as someone who had previously lived in the house; the officer reported that Williams entered the bedroom through an unlocked window and took a hard drive and a Glock pistol.
Williams has been charged with armed burglary and grand theft of a firearm. He has served a state prison sentence for armed trespassing out of Bradford County and was released in 2022; Bradford County charges of burglary and dealing in stolen property from 2021 were later dropped. In Williams’s arrest warrant, issued by Judge William Davis in 2023, bail was set at $200,000; the Alachua County Jail website shows his bail as $125,000.
