State Attorney announces sentencing for 2018 attempted murder

On Friday, January 29, 2021, Assistant State Attorney Daniel Owen presided over the sentencing of Darrell Jerrand Wilson, DOB : 09/28/1991. Wilson was accused of two counts of attempted first degree murder during a Gainesville Police investigation February 27th, 2018.
During the week of December 14th, 2020, a three-day trial concluded in an Alachua County Jury finding Wilson guilty of the unlawful shooting that caused great bodily harm to Torrance Lee and an infant child.
The Honorable James M. Colaw sentenced Wilson to 35 years, 25 years minimum of which should be served in the Florida Department of Corrections.
