Sun Country Dance Theatre auditions to be held on August 16

JONESVILLE, Fla. – Sun Country Dance Theatre (SCDT), founded in August 2008, will hold OPEN AUDITIONS  for their 19^th Season (2026-2027) on SUNDAY, AUGUST 16, 2026.

A Mandatory Pre-Audition meeting for all dancers and parents/legal guardians of dancers planning to audition for SCDT will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Sun Country Sports – West location. The purpose of this meeting will be to outline and review all information and details regarding becoming a performing member of SCDT.

ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION FOR THE AUDITIONS IS ALSO REQUIRED FOR ALL DANCERS. All required audition documents and links will be provided to parents at the pre-audition meeting. Audition fee is $25 per dancer – due at the time of registration. The deadline for all completed pre-registration documents and audition fee payment is Friday, August 14^th!

Audition details for SUNDAY, AUGUST 16^th are as follows:

• SENIOR / APPRENTICE COMPANY  –  12:15-2:15 p.m. 
  • Advanced Level Ballet – ages 14 & up – Must be on pointe. 
• TEEN / YOUTH COMPANY  – 2:30-4:30 p.m. 
  • Intermediate level – Ages 12 & up / Minimum of 5 consecutive years of previous ballet training.  Bring pointe shoes if on pointe. 
• JUNIOR / Children’s Division – 4:40-6:10 p.m.  
  • Ages 9 & up / Minimum of 3 consecutive years of previous ballet training. Current Ballet level III/IV/V training required.  

• All auditions will be held at Sun Country Sports – West location – 333 SW 140 Terrace, Jonesville, FL.  
• Dancers should arrive 20 minutes prior to the audition
• Girls should wear a black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers, with hair in a slick classical ballet bun (no bangs). Dancers who have at least one year of pointe experience should bring their pointe shoes to the audition. Boys should wear appropriate classical ballet class attire.
