The Amazing Give Online Fundraising Event to be held April 21

Press release from Community Foundation of North Central Florida

More than 100 nonprofits across North Central Florida are set to participate in The Amazing Give, our region’s seventh annual day of online giving, to be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 21. Hosted by the Community Foundation of North Central Florida, this event will raise funds and awareness for not-for-profit organizations located in or serving the North Central Florida community.

“The Amazing Give has truly become a community movement of generosity,” Barzella Papa, President and CEO of the Community Foundation, said. “This year, a record 110 nonprofit organizations have registered to participate, and while their causes may be different, their missions are essentially the same – to make North Central Florida a great place to live for us all. ”

Seven years ago, the Foundation launched the community’s first and only online give day, The Amazing Give. This one-day event has raised more than $5.5 million for more than 130 local nonprofits and groups since its inception.

Fueled by the power of social media, The Amazing Give unites nonprofits in a call to action to raise critical funds they need to make our community a better place to live, work, play, and serve. Monies raised will support things such as mental wellness, animal welfare, arts and culture, education, the environment, human services, recreation volunteerism, and youth. It is modeled after the internationally popular Giving Tuesday (held annually the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving), but this initiative is more regionalized, encouraging North Central Florida donors to give local first. All money raised here in the North Central Florida stays here. Donations can be made online at www.TheAmazingGive.org.

The Community Foundation has partnered with The Fiesta Media to produce a 12-hour live stream during The Amazing Give. Local media personalities and influencers, such as Storm Roberts, Collin Austin, Pastor Karl Anderson, and Joshua and Amanda Wilson, will help host the live stream. The stream will be made available on Facebook and online at www.TheAmazingGive.org.

The Amazing Give will conclude this year with a community wrap party to celebrate local philanthropy and count down to the total amount raised. The wrap party will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Celebration Pointe with drinks provided by Spurrier’s Gridiron Grill and MidiCi.

“As nonprofits across the region continue to face many challenges, The Amazing Give is an opportunity to come together and build a community of philanthropy and giving. We look forward to this opportunity to further our missions together to create a stronger, more vibrant community,” said Papa.
