The Droptines bring Texas-bred alt-country grit to Heartwood Soundstage
Press release from Heartwood Soundstage
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Heartwood Soundstage is proud to welcome The Droptines to Gainesville on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Doors open at 6:00 PM, and the show begins at 7:00 PM.
Born in Concan, Texas, and led by songwriter Conner Arthur — known affectionately as “The King of Concan” — The Droptines bring a raw, genre-bending brand of alternative country rooted in the Texas Hill Country. With rich vocals, layered lyrics, and songs that swing from hard-hitting anthems to heart-wrenching ballads, the band has quickly earned a reputation for storytelling at its finest.
Their live shows — packed with energy, emotion, and pure musicianship — showcase a sound that blends outlaw grit with Southern soul. From the fiery “New Girl” to the haunting “As Your Heart Breaks,” The Droptines deliver a performance that’s both poetic and unforgettable.
“Once every decade or so, someone comes along, takes the bar, and sets it way higher than any of us could dream of. Conner is the new gold standard of songwriting,” says David Beck. Fellow artist William Beckmann adds, “His songs make you think long after you’ve stopped listening, and the characters he writes about live in your mind forever.”
Since their formation in 2019, The Droptines have shared stages with acts like Turnpike Troubadours, Chris Stapleton, and Zach Bryan, solidifying their place among the most exciting new forces in modern Americana. Their lineup — Conner Arthur (vocals, guitar), Dillon Sampson (bass), Donny Parkinson (lead guitar), Johnny Sheets (drums), and Tony Rincon (pedal steel) — continues to redefine the boundaries of country and rock, bringing authenticity and heart to every performance.
