The Hippodrome Cinema announces its April lineup

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Hippodrome Cinema has a full slate of exceptional films this April, including an Oscar winner, new releases, a legendary concert film, and two special events.

“April is one of those months where every single screening feels like an event,” said Naheed Mojadidi, Cinema Director at the Hippodrome. “We can’t wait to share this lineup with Gainesville.”

Mr. Nobody Against Putin — The 2026 Academy Award® Winner for Best Documentary Feature, co-directed by UF alumnus David Borenstein, follows a Russian schoolteacher who risks everything to expose Putin’s regime from the inside. Screening April 2, 10, 11 & 26.

Pillion — A bold, charming romance-comedy starring Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgård. Screening April 2, 12, 23 & 26.

Undertone — An atmospheric horror about a podcast host haunted by mysterious recordings. Screening April 23, 25 & 26.

EPIC: Elvis Presley in Concert — Baz Luhrmann brings Elvis back to the big screen in a breathtaking new concert experience. Screening April 18 & 25.

Staff Reel Pick Series (new!) — Box Office Manager Matt Dibble kicks off the Hipp’s new staff-curated screening series with David Byrne’s cult classic True Stories (1986). Matt will be in attendance. Screening April 10.

Cocktails & Classics: Airplane! — The beloved 1980 parody comedy returns for a fun night out at the Hipp. Cocktail included in every ticket purchase. Screening April 25.
