The Rock School achieves IB Continuum authorization
Press release from The Rock School
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Rock School is thrilled to announce its official authorization to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), completing the IB Continuum across grades K–12. With this final authorization, The Rock School becomes one of only 44 schools in the U.S., and one of only two private Christian schools in the state of Florida, to offer an IB Continuum for grades K-12.
This rare distinction places The Rock School among a small group of schools committed to delivering a consistent, globally recognized, inquiry-based education from the earliest years through graduation. It also reflects the school’s long-standing mission to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and character needed to cooperate with God in redeeming the world.
Head of School, Arica Heise, shared her excitement:
“This is more than just an academic milestone; it’s a vision fulfilled for our school. Our IB Continuum means every student at The Rock School, from Kindergarten to 12th grade, will have the opportunity to grow as compassionate, curious, and Christ-centered learners who engage the world with wisdom and purpose.”
IB programmes are internationally respected for cultivating deep thinking, student agency, and intercultural understanding. For The Rock School, the integration of IB philosophy with a distinctly Christian worldview provides students with a unique foundation: one that challenges them academically while grounding them in Biblical truth.
As an IB Continuum World School, The Rock School now offers:
- PYP (Primary Years Programme) for grades K–5
- MYP (Middle Years Programme) for grades 6–10
- DP (Diploma Programme) for grades 11–12
Each program builds on the last, helping students grow into reflective, servant-hearted leaders ready to meet the challenges of college, career, and calling.
