TheColdCases.com conducts exclusive interview with daughter of Maureen “Cookie” Rowan in Little Miss Panasoffkee cold case

Press release from TheColdCases.com
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – TheColdCases.com has released an exclusive interview with Ann Patrick, daughter of Maureen L. “Cookie” Rowan, recently identified as the woman long known as “Little Miss Lake Panasoffkee,” a 1971 Jane Doe homicide victim found in Sumter County, Florida.
In the interview, Ann shares emotional memories of her mother, her family’s decades-long search for answers, and her hopes now that Maureen has finally been identified after more than 50 years. She is also issuing a public appeal for anyone who knew Maureen “Cookie” Rowan or her estranged husband, Charles “Emery” Rowan, during the late 1960s or early 1970s.
“Maureen was a mother, a daughter, and a sister long before she became a cold case name,” said Dustin Terry, founder of TheColdCases.com. “Ann’s voice puts humanity back into this story. Our mission is to amplify her plea so that anyone who crossed paths with Maureen or Charles feels compelled to come forward.”
Investigators with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office have identified Charles Emery Rowan Sr. as a person of interest. He died in 2015, and investigators are now working to learn more about the couple’s movements, social circles, and personal history leading up to Maureen’s death.
Ann is seeking information from:
- Anyone who knew Maureen “Cookie” Rowan
- Anyone who knew or interacted with Charles (Emery) Rowan
- Anyone who recalls rumors or events connected to the Rowan family around 1970–1971
