GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The American Cancer Society invites you to get your pink on and participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event on October 26, 2024, at Celebration Pointe. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is not just a walk—it’s a pink party with a purpose! We encourage everyone to go all out and wear their brightest, boldest pink to support breast cancer awareness. Whether it’s a pink tutu, pink socks, or a full head-to-toe pink outfit, we want you to bring everyone you know and to get creative, have fun, and show up in style!

This year, we’re shaking things up with distances from 1K to 4K, making it fun for everyone, no matter your pace.

Pooches in Pink costume contest

But wait, the fun doesn’t stop at the finish line! Stick around after the walk for the Pooches in Pink costume contest for our four-legged friends and a fabulous costume contest for humans, too. Whether you’re a dog owner with a flair for fashion or someone who loves dressing up, this is your chance to shine (in pink, of course)!

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a celebration of courage and hope, uniting communities in the fight to end breast cancer. For over 30 years, these non-competitive walks have become the nation’s largest and most impactful breast cancer movement. Join us in providing a supportive community for brave breast cancer survivors, metastatic breast cancer thrivers, caregivers, and families.

By participating in this event, you’ll help raise funds for breast cancer research, education, and support programs. Whether you’re walking in memory of a loved one or celebrating a survivor, your involvement makes a difference.
