Trinity Thomas is SEC Gymnast of the Week for the fifth week in a row

Trinity Thomas is a six-time recipient of the Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Week honor. The only other Gator to earn six SEC Gymnast of the Week honors was Gator Great Bridget Sloan in 2016.

Florida’s Trinity Thomas collects her fifth consecutive Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Week honor after winning her sixth all-around of 2020.

Gator sophomore Trinity Thomas stretched her string of consecutive Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Week honors to five after her performance last Friday in No. 2 Florida’s win versus then No. 8 Alabama.  

This is her sixth SEC Gymnast of the Week recognition of 2020 and ninth of her Gator career. The last Gator to claim six SEC Gymnast of the Week honors was Gator Great Bridget Sloan in 2016.

Thomas’ All-Around Win:

  • She turned in the nation’s second-highest and the SEC’s leading total for the weekend (39.65) as the Gators defeated No. 8 Alabama to claim the SEC regular-season title
  • This is her sixth all-around win of the season and the 12th of her collegiate career.
  • Her five appearances among the season’s top-15 totals leads the nation’s all-arounders.
  • She scored 9.9 or better on each apparatus versus Alabama. She also shared second on the beam (9.95) and bars (9.90), plus shared third on beam (9.90). 
  • Thomas has 21 event titles in 2020 and 47 for her collegiate career. She is the fourth Gator to earn 40 or more career event titles as a sophomore.
  • Thomas’s current Road to National rankings are all-around (No. 6), balance beam (No. T-2) and floor exercise (No. T-1).
