Florida Ballpark, the home of the 13th-ranked Florida baseball program, was selected as one of 16 NCAA Tournament Regional host sites on Sunday evening. The Gainesville Regional will take place from Friday, June 4 to Monday, June 7.

With 2021 representing Florida Ballpark’s inaugural season, the upcoming Gainesville Regional marks the first-ever at the Gators’ new home. Overall, 2021 represents the 17th time that Florida has hosted an NCAA Regional. From 2014-18 in particular, Florida hosted five consecutive NCAA Regionals.

Following the NCAA’s announcement on May 19 that it is allowing full capacity at 2021 Spring Championships, the University of Florida will allow the same for any NCAA Championship it is hosting the rest of the athletic year, including this upcoming weekend’s NCAA Baseball Gainesville Regional.

64 total teams will be selected for the NCAA Tournament on May 30, with the 16 teams chosen as host schools welcoming three visiting teams to each site. Four teams will compete across each of those 16 NCAA Regional sites to determine which 16 programs will advance to NCAA Super Regionals, scheduled for June 11-14.
