GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Tedd Comerford has been named senior vice president for supply chain for the UF Health clinical enterprise. His leadership appointment is a part of the health system’s transformation, which supports the work happening across patient care, operations, finances, and infrastructure teams.

Comerford, an executive leader at UF Health since 2017, will oversee systemwide supply chain strategy and operations, including procurement, contracting, distribution, inventory management, value analysis, and supplier performance, with a focus on creating consistency and cost savings. With nearly four decades of health care supply chain experience, he most recently was UF Health’s interim senior vice president for supply chain services.

Before joining UF Health, Comerford created high-performing supply chain strategies in other large healthcare systems across the Southeast. Those changes led to lower costs, improved processes, and better team performance.

In his years at UF Health, his teams have achieved similar results, saving millions of dollars that can then be returned to the UF Health clinical enterprise due to its not-for-profit status.

“My time at UF Health has truly been an exceptional experience,” Comerford said. “The opportunity to work alongside such a talented and dedicated system supply chain team has been both rewarding and inspiring. Our achievements are a direct result of strong partnerships with our clinical enterprise stakeholders.”
