Head coach JC Deacon announced Wednesday that Giovanni Manzoni has signed with the Gators for the 2020-21 season.

A junior transfer from Lynn University, Manzoni is immediately eligible to compete for the Gators next year. The Cremella, Italy, native comes to Gainesville boasting an already impressive resume from his two-year stint with the Fighting Knights.
As a sophomore, Manzoni played in all seven tournaments for Lynn, finishing the abbreviated season with a 71.85 scoring average. In all seven appearances, Manzoni placed inside the top 30 individually with two top-10 performances.
In his freshman season, Manzoni appeared in seven tournaments, where he recorded a scoring average of 71.14. Over that span, Manzoni notched three top-10 finishes, including an individual victory at the 2019 NCAA South/Southwest Regional.
Following his impressive freshman campaign, Manzoni was named a PING Second Team All-America and selected for the PING Freshman All-America Team. He also earned PING All-South Region honors and was named a Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference selection
In addition to his collegiate accolades, Manzoni has proven himself at every level of amateur golf. Manzoni won the 2019 Swiss Amateur Championship, then followed that up by making the cut in the Omega European Masters event on the European Tour. He also competes as a member of Team Italy and is currently ranked 206th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
