Gator captain will play at noon ET on Friday for a national championship

Florida’s Sam Riffice (No. 6 seed) advanced to the final of the NCAA Singles Tournament after a 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-1 victory over No. 1-seeded Liam Draxl of Kentucky on Thursday at the USTA National Campus.

The Gator captain’s win sets him up for an all-Southeastern Conference matchup with No. 2-seeded Daniel Rodrigues of South Carolina at noon ET on Friday.

Riffice is looking to become only the third Gator in school history to win an individual national championship in singles. Mark Merklein (1994) and Jeff Morrison (1999) were the other two winners.

The matchup on Friday is open to the general public and tickets can be purchased for $10 at the link below. Fans that can’t attend will be able to follow via live video and live stats links.
