University Avenue to close near campus at 4 p.m. on May 15 & 16 for concert

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The upcoming May 15-16 concert at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (157 Gale Lemerand Dr.) is expected to bring significant traffic impacts and road closures in and around the University of Florida campus.

Residents and travelers should expect a major influx of traffic beginning early afternoon Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16, as parking operations begin for the concert events.

Road closures include:

• Wednesday, May 13, through Monday, May 18: Stadium Road from Gale Lemerand Drive to Florida Gymnasium will be closed.
• Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16: West University Avenue will close between NW 17th Street and Gale Lemerand Drive from 4 p.m.-2 a.m both nights.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and seek alternate routes when possible.
