Press release from Alachua County Supervisor of Elections
University of Florida student Sarah Louis was awarded a scholarship from the Florida Supervisors of Elections (FSE), the statewide association of Florida’s elections officials.
Louis is a fourth-year student studying political science and African American studies. She is the past president of the Gator Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
The association awards at least three $1,200 scholarships every year. Each scholarship is named for a past Florida Supervisor of Elections. Sarah’s scholarship was created in memory of Jimmy Whitehouse, who served as Highlands County’s Supervisor of Elections from 1972 to 1996.
