Virginia woman killed in crash near Waldo

A Virginia woman was killed and a 12-year-old Virginia boy and Waldo man were critically injured in a crash this morning on NE US Hwy 301 near Waldo.

At 6:00 a.m., the 57-year-old woman from Lorton, VA, and the 12-year-old boy, also from Virginia, were traveling northbound on Hwy 301 in a Ford SUV, approaching the intersection of NE CR 1471. A Toyota SUV driven by a 28-year-old Waldo man was traveling southbound on CR 1471, crossed Hwy 301 in front of the Ford SUV, and was struck by the Ford.

The Virginia woman was pronounced deceased at the scene, and her passenger and the other driver were transported to the hospital with critical injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
