Williston man dead in Saturday night crash

According to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 26-year-old Williston man was fatally injured around 10 p.m. on March 20. He was driving southbound in a pickup truck on CR 241, approximately half a mile north of SW 175th Ave, when he veered to the left, crossing the northbound lane onto the eastbound shoulder. The front of the vehicle hit a tree, causing the rear of the truck to leave the ground and come to rest on a tree.

The driver was transported to UF Health at Shands, where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 2:10 a.m. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
