Winn-Dixie donates $30,000 in holiday support to Toys for Tots

Press release from Winn-Dixie

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Winn-Dixie raised $30,000 for Toys for Tots this holiday season, thanks to the generosity of associates and customers across Central Florida. The funds were collected through the grocer’s in-store community donation program.

From Nov. 1-18, customers across Alachua, Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion, Pasco, and Sumter counties were invited to support local Toys for Tots chapters by giving $1, $5, or rounding up their grocery bill at checkout. These contributions will help provide toys and holiday cheer to children whose families are facing financial hardship.

This year’s donation reflects the shared commitment of Winn-Dixie’s customers and associates to lift their neighbors and make the holidays brighter for local families.

As a grocer with deep roots in the communities it serves, Winn-Dixie is committed to supporting causes that matter to its customers and associates while strengthening the well-being of its neighbors. For seven years, Winn-Dixie has proudly partnered with Toys for Tots to help brighten the holidays for local children.

Toys for Tots, a program founded by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, collects toys during October, November and December, distributing them as holiday gifts to less fortunate children. The program’s mission is to positively impact the development of children by ensuring they experience the joy and magic of the holiday season.
