‘With Everything Going On’ festival and album release show come to Gainesville’s Heartwood Soundstage on May 30

Press release from Jordan Burchel

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – On Saturday, May 30, Heartwood Soundstage will host the inaugural With Everything Going On festival, a new one-day event curated by Gainesville songwriter Jordan Burchel. The festival also serves as the official release show for Burchel’s new record of the same name.

Featuring Nick Lutsko String Band, The Nancys, Lauris Vidal, Spencer Thomas, Morningbell, Lauren Woodall, and more, the event brings together a cross-section of Gainesville and regional artists whose work has been shaped by this place, this moment, and the tension of making art during uncertain times.

Part music festival, part record release, and part reflection on the role of creativity in a chaotic world, With Everything Going On is built around a question many artists and audiences are asking right now: what does it mean to keep making, gathering, and participating with everything going on?

“With Everything Going On came from the tension of feeling like making art right now is either meaningless or essential,” said Burchel. “This festival is an attempt to hold both of those ideas at once. At its core, it’s friends playing music and drinking. But it’s also about using whatever catharsis we create together as the kindling for meaningful participation in the world.”

The event runs from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on May 30 at Heartwood Soundstage in Gainesville.
